Nick Aspidow joined our team in mid-2007 as Deaf Relations Coordinator. Having grown up Deaf and immersed in the Deaf community, Nick is a native signer of ASL. He began his involvement in the Deaf community through school and church. In High School, Nick acted in the play “The Fantasticks” using a bilingual cast member to voice his signs. As Vice President of the ASL Club, Nick mentored students in ASL. Currently, Nick is pursuing a degree from Columbus State Community College in Multimedia. As Deaf Relations Coordinator, Nick focuses on meeting the needs of the Deaf community. Using his networking skills, he ensures Deaf clients know about Video Remote Interpreting (VRI), their rights, and offers an open channel for feedback. Nick also evaluates units with Deaf consumers in mind, documenting proper protocol for each Martti.
