Erika Shell Castro is the Director of Interpreter Services at Language Access Network. Prior to her present position, Erika managed the interpreter services department at OhioHealth, building a program that served over 2,000 requests monthly. She has also worked 7 years as an interpreter and completed over 120 hours of interpreter training. Since 2005, Erika has been a qualified trainer for Bridging the Gap, a 40-hour medical interpreter training program.

Erika has spent the last 10 years volunteering and working to support the new Latino immigrants in Central Ohio. She is a founding member of the Latino Empowerment and Outreach Network (LEON) leongroup.org, and the Clinica Latina; a free health clinic for uninsured Spanish speaking immigrants.
