Language Access Network provides innovative solutions to hospitals throughout the nation, quickly allowing patients to have immediate access to the communication they need. Interpreters working for LAN have access to a wide variety of tools to expand their skill sets, including 64 hours of medical interpreter training, custom glossaries and the collaborative experience and support of other interpreters. Further, interpreters have access to consistent work schedules and shifts, benefit-eligible positions, free online education on a variety of topics and paid time off. Language Access Network offers a supportive and team-focused environment that encourages professional growth.
Interpreters at Language Access Network are:
- Trained with Bridging the Gap medical interpreter training program and CCC extension units
- Nationally certified for American Sign Language interpretation by the RID at levels accepted by all states
- Independently tested for spoken language competency in interpreting
- Continuously exposed to new topics in specialized trainings
- Oriented to video interpreting with emphasis on camera presence
- Located in a secure Language Center with data and communications redundancy
As a provider of video, Language Access Network uses secured data lines to ensure HIPAA compliancy. All interpreters are located at one of our two sites to maintain compliance, security of data and quality where they are able to work as a team.
All interpreters employed at Language Access Network are required to complete Bridging the Gap medical interpreter training and continuing education units for a minimum of 64 hours.
