Faced with growing concerns about compliance, Bridgeport Hospital sought an innovative way to meet the needs of LEP and Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing patients: Language Access Network and Martti. Using on demand service, providers at Bridgeport Hospital were able to meet the needs quickly and efficiently. To date, Bridgeport Hospital has helped over 15 hospitals in Connecticut increase compliance and is a state model for its use of video interpreting.

Spotlight:
As Director of Patient Relations, Lynn Charbonneau understands the importance of communication.  She has not only helped patients at her hospital gain immediate access to qualified interpreters, but several hospitals throughout the state of Connecticut.  Initially, Lynn was doubtful about the technology: they already had access to telephonic and various agencies.  Yet video proved instrumental in expanding services while controlling cost.  To date, Bridgeport has the most comprehensive video interpreting network in the state.
